The area dedicated to sandblasting consists of three cabins (7.80 × 32 × h 6 metres, 5 × 20 × h 6 metres and 11 × 32 × h 6 metres). They are fitted with tracks and motor-powered rollers for movement, thereby enabling heavy and large steel structures to be treated. In addition, there is an automatic shot blasting machine equipped with 8 turbines (2 × 1.5 metres) which enables the treatment in series of small-medium sized items.


Sand blasting, which is a definition that may cover various methods of application and different types of abrasives, still constitutes the surface preparation system providing the best guarantees for a good efficiency of a protection cycle.


Depending on the cycle specified by the Client, the activities performed are of the pneumatic or hydraulic type. The first process is dry; it is a fast and effective method using both metal abrasives, such as steel grit, that offers the correct equilibrium between hardness and friability, and non-metallic abrasives such as silica-based river sand or, alternatively, slag materials (such as copper) and non-silicon synthetic materials. The second process is hydro-jetting, based on high-pressure, low volume water jets, preferably mixed with a small quantity of non-metallic abrasive.


The company is able to prepare the items in accordance with the requirements of ISO 8501 (preparation grades from SA 1 to SA 3).
